Returns, Refunds, Pricing, and Warranty Policy

1. Pricing & Purchase Terms

Prices listed on EVolthome.ca are subject to change without prior notification. The price charged and confirmed during checkout is final and valid only at the specific time of purchase. We do not offer price adjustments on previous orders should pricing change after your transaction is completed.

2. 30-Day Return Policy (Unopened Items Only)

We accept returns for a refund within 30 days of the original purchase date. To be eligible for a return, the unit must meet the following strict conditions:

  • Unopened: The original factory seal on the product box must be intact.

  • Unused & Uninstalled: The unit must never have been mounted, connected to power, or registered.

  • Original Condition: Must be returned in the original box with all packaging materials, manuals, and accessories. Damaged returns due to inadequate packaging may be rejected.

  • If applicable, shipping fees paid during the original order are non-refundable.

Important: EVolthome does not accept returns of units that have been opened, installed, or used. All sales are final on open-box or installed products due to safety and certification regulations. If an installed unit is defective, please refer to Section 6 (Product Warranty & Defective Units) for the proper procedure.

3. Restocking Fees & Return Shipping

To cover operational and inspection costs and maintain product safety compliance, a 25% Restocking Fee applies to all eligible returns.

  • Return Shipping: The customer is responsible for all shipping costs and associated insurance to return the unit to our facilities.

  • Refund Calculation: Your refund will be calculated as the original purchase price of the product minus the 25% restocking fee.

  • Refused Deliveries: If a customer refuses delivery of an order, the package will be returned to us. The refund will be the original purchase price minus the original shipping cost, the return shipping cost, and a $150 administrative fee, not to exceed the 25% restocking fee.

4. How to Request a Return

You must obtain official approval (a Return Merchandise Authorization or RMA) before shipping any product back. Unauthorized returns will not be accepted.

  1. Contact Us: Email us at contact(at)evolthome.ca to request an RMA within the 30-day window.

  2. Verification: We may require photos of the sealed box to verify eligibility before approving the return. 

  3. Ship: Once approved, ship the unit to the address provided using a traceable and insured shipping method.
    Note: Return approval does not guarantee a refund until inspection is complete.

5. Inspection & Refund Processing Time

Upon receiving the return, our team will conduct a thorough inspection.

  • Verification: We will verify that the unit is sealed, unused, and that the product's Serial Number matches the one on the original sales invoice. Any unit with a mismatched serial number will be rejected, and no refund will be issued.

  • Processing Time: Please allow up to 10 business days after we receive your return for the inspection to be completed and the final refund to be processed.

6. Product Warranty & Defective Units

EVolthome acts exclusively as an authorized reseller of Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE). We do not provide, service, or fulfill the product warranty.

  • Manufacturer Warranty: All products, including the Grizzl-E charger, are covered solely by the warranty provided by the original manufacturer, United Chargers.

  • Warranty Claims: If your charger has been opened, installed, or is suspected to be defective, all claims for repair, replacement, or technical support must be directed to the manufacturer.

    We will not accept returns for refund on units claimed to be defective, as these must be resolved through the manufacturer's warranty procedure.

  • This policy does not affect or limit any rights or remedies the consumer may have under applicable federal or provincial legislation, including implied warranties that cannot legally be excluded.

7. Installation Estimates – Non-Refundable Fee

Site Visit Fees Are Non-Refundable

If you purchase an installation service estimate or site assessment, the associated fee becomes non-refundable once an independent licensed electrician has visited your location to perform the evaluation. EVolthome collects this fee on behalf of the independent electrician completing the site visit.

  • What's Included: The site visit fee covers the electrician's time, travel, assessment of your electrical panel, load calculations, permit requirements review, and preparation of an installation quote.
  • Non-Refundable After Visit: Once the independent electrician has completed the on-site assessment, the estimation fee cannot be refunded, regardless of whether you proceed with the installation service.
  • Cancellation Before Visit: If you need to cancel your scheduled site visit, you must directly notify the electrician at least 3 business days in advance to receive a full refund of the estimation fee. Cancellations made with less than 3 business days notice will forfeit the fee.
  • No Show / No access: If the electrician arrives at the scheduled date and time but cannot access the property, or cannot reach the customer after reasonable attempts (e.g., no answer at the door, locked access, unreachable by phone), the visit will be considered completed. In these cases, the estimation fee remains non-refundable, as the electrician has already incurred travel and time costs.
  • Installation Service Separate: The site visit estimation fee is separate from the actual installation service cost. If you choose to proceed with installation after receiving your quote, the installation fee will be charged separately by the independent electrician and is subject to their own terms.
  • Installation services are subject to the terms outlined in our Terms of Service.

8. Quebec Customers Only - Legal Notice & Statutory Warranty

Notice Regarding Availability Guarantee of Replacement Parts, Repair Services, and Maintenance Information

For Québec customers only, please be advised that EVolt home, 17488181 Canada inc., does not guarantee, within the meaning of Section 39 of the Consumer Protection Act and the applicable regulations, the availability of Replacement parts, Repair services, Maintenance or repair information.

Where applicable, EVolthome may assist in facilitating warranty claims, subject to the terms and conditions of the manufacturer’s warranty. This notice does not affect any applicable manufacturer warranties, which remain in place. Customers should contact the manufacturer directly for details regarding availability guarantees.

This Notice is made in compliance with Section 39 of the Consumer Protection Act, CQLR c. P-40.1 and Sections 79.18 to 79.20 of the Regulation respecting its application.


Notice Concerning the Quebec Legal Warranty

Under the Consumer protection Act, all goods purchased or leased from a merchant are subject to a statutory legal warranty:

  1. Goods must be usable for the purposes for which they are ordinarily used (Section 37 of the Act).

  2. Goods must be usable in normal use for a reasonable length of time, which may vary according to the price paid, contract terms, and conditions of use (Section 38 of the Act).
